The following is a short essay on what Jared Rand is attempting (and will be successful, I might add) to do by enrolling the cooperation of 8,000 people meditating to bring change to the planet.
I have written this before, here and other places on the web. In the 1970's there were experiments done with the help of the practitioners of Transcendental Meditation. The experiments were to prove that a group meditator with one central purpose which was agreed to before the meditation would begin, would have an impact on the target. In the case of those following the practices of Maharishi Mahesh, Yogi, they meditated, focused upon, if you will, lowering the crime rate in the various city that the group meditations occurred. While I am not looking at the particular results, in each case the crime rates fell by significant percentages of 10 to 15% for a time. My memory fails me, so the improvements may have been higher.
Jared Rand, is enjoyable to listen to. And I'll bet he knows what I am writing here from his own studies. Yet, for some reason, he has yet to mention these studies and the relation they have to his calling for 8,000 regular participants to meditate on changing our planet. Things like manifesting Med Beds as quickly as possible would be one such meditation he mentioned. We could definitely use such a result.
Therefore, to fill in the blanks for those that have difficulty in understanding that meditation IS the way to create earthly change as well as doing it quickly here is the math that the Maharishi mediations proved. And why Jared Rand keeps mentioning that he/we, the people, need 8,000 steady participants to affect world change.
At this time we can estimate the planet has approximately 7.8Billion people living on it. 7,800,000,000 people.
The math was found by the experiments to be that the necessary amount of meditators to affect change noticeably was the square root of 1% of the population of each city where the meditations occurred. Jared is encouraging meditators to change the world in not just one city but the world. Thus, we must take the square root of the population of the planet. That number comes out to be 8,800 people. Or stated differently, the square root of 1% of 7,800,000,000 is about 8,800 or for sticklers 8,831.78806 people. So, 9,000 would be better than 8,000 to make sure that critical mass is achieved.
To address what Mr. Rand is speaking about having people that are committed to long term meditation on various memes to change the planet he actually needs about 9,000 people present and meditating for 30 minutes every week. Thus, we can all surmise that a larger number would be helpful to replace those that have other important and unavoidable commitments to not always be present. Being present weekly is important. Once results begin to be tracked or noticed; then those that are part of the meditation begin to gain confidence in what they are doing and the result could be expected to improve. Those that are extras to the core 8,9000 make sure the necessary square root of 1% is always meditating and producing results. When the total exceeds the necessary 8,900 the power increases logrithmically.
Hopefully, knowing this has now improved your understanding of why meditating, and that it has been measured and, in fact, produces results. Let your mind wander now to what changes we may seen in a short time as these warriors armed with increased ability to meditate on a given result will produce. It's hard not to be interested in being a part of this. I intend to be there as often as possible. Once there is an overage of necessary numbers of meditators we can attend to the occasional personal "have to" events without feeling guilty for missing one on rare occasions.
Everyone get ready, this will be something of which to be a part. Imagine...and be amazed.
