I was going through my blog stats and saw this... two hundred and seventy nine thousand google likes on a blog post from 2012. Over a quarter of a million thumbs up. That is shocking. I have languished in obscurity due to censorship but holy crap. These sort of numbers get development deals in Hollywood. If you scroll down you will see what I would consider huge numbers. Over 800 or over a 1000, let alone 30,000 plus. But a quarter of a million?
And here I am just discovering this 6 years later. The post itself may be about the cartoons or perhaps the comment section or maybe both. Most likely someone with a huge email list. So hard to say.
I have had a pretty rough life, much of it due to a big mouth. I have never been able to just let bullies and deceivers go unchecked. But I am 57 freaking years old now. Somehow the last 20 years went by in a blink of an eye. Everyone from my schools expected me to do great things and I was on the precipice many times but here I am, happy as hell to have an apartment and serenity. Well, other than watching bullies and deceivers still getting away with murder.
It is a hair fine line between success and failure and a big mouth doesn't help tilt the balance.
If we actually get paid I wonder how much reserve passion I have left in the tank to realize a few dreams before I am officially old.
As you get older and think back on everything you did wrong, bad reactions to stressful situations... You wish you could take it back.
That's partly where my money will go... amends and a check.
Easier to forgive a guy who brightens your life with an unexpected windfall.
